How to be the World’s Best

Book cover for Laban Ditchburn, the world’s best courage coach’s new book, Bet On You

Are you doing what you love?

Is it as a world’s best level?

Are you being paid for your world’s best knowledge?

From a very young age, I always knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

So, when I was sixteen, I proudly told my father the following statement.

“Dad, I know what I want to be! – I want to follow in your footsteps and become the world’s best Radio Announcer!”.

I had taken the time to fill out a huge application form, which also required one further item before being submitted.

A short recording of my voice to help ascertain suitability for the course.

When I went to my dad for help with this last hurdle, he stopped me dead in my tracks.

“No son, you don’t want to do that for a living – there’s no money in it!”

He was right, well…sort of.

During his own heyday in the 1980s, my dad ranked as the number one broadcaster in New Zealand.

He held a 51% market share, a number so enormous back then, but never likely to be repeated in the modern era.

He was earning five times what a schoolteacher was in 1980, (the year I was born), but a bitter divorce, child-support payments, a huge ego and no clear purpose for what he was doing, had taken its toll on my dear old dad and what he perceived as important in a job.

His career has dwindled into something far less than his peak heyday. A bitter pill to swallow for a man that on paper at one point, had everything he had always desired as a young man.

And what my dear old dad failed to recognise in his firstborn was that it was never about the money for me.

I was sixteen, and apart from a small paper route, I had no money.

It was about having a voice, a message, impact, and influence.

So, I heeded my father’s advice and when I left high school the next year, I spent the next two decades working jobs I had zero passion for (Chef, Pastry Chef, Mobile Phone sales rep, International Relocations consultant, Online Advertising Rep and Technology Recruitment Consultant).

I ground my way through these misguided career paths, chasing the dragon of fulfilment that never was satiated.

Fast forward to 2021 and I’m very pleased to share with you that not only have I found my purpose, I damn good at it.

I’m the world’s best courage coach.

And I’m well on my way to becoming the world’s most positively influential speaker.

I’ve learned some powerful lessons over my 41 years on the planet and the last two years have been the perfect catalyst to hone my craft.

One hundred and ten podcasts recorded, a self-help book that will change the lives of many people and connections with formerly untouchable idols, are now my new norm.

I’m grateful for the experience that I had in the lead up to figuring out my purpose.

I’ve let go and forgiven my father (as well as myself) for his well-intended, but misguided advice on life.

So, with this in mind, I’m preparing to properly dive head-first into the very exciting world of the masterclass.

Not just attending them, but hosting, running and then delivering on the event promise.

“Bet on You live! Create your personal roadmap to unlock unlimited financial potential by becoming the world’s best in your chosen niche” is the name, intent and fundamental goal of this very exciting chapter of my life.

Join Evans Putman (The world’s best podcast monetization coach) and me, (the world’s best courage coach) for an opportunity to be a part of something truly world-class.
